True Beauty

This world places immense importance on outward beauty.

People spend billions every day trying to look young and attractive—on skincare, makeup, cosmetics, hairstyling, plastic surgery, fashion, and brands.

It is estimated that the amount spent globally on beauty reaches enormous figures daily.

Why such expense?

Because the world says, “Your value depends on how you look.”

But is this really true?

What does beauty do to our lives?

The beauty that the world promotes is temporary.

It fades with age, diminishes with time, and ultimately ends with death.

Those who build their lives only on outward beauty often struggle with envy, comparison, dissatisfaction, fear, and inner emptiness.

Because external beauty can never fill the void within the human heart.

What does God’s Word say about beauty?

The Bible clearly says:

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting.” Proverbs 31:30

This does not reject beauty completely, but it places it in the right perspective.

Another passage says:

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” 1 Peter 3:3–4

Yes, God does not look at the face, the body, or the clothing.

God looks at the heart.

What is true beauty?

True beauty is found in: A pure heart

Humility

Love

Forgiveness

Obedience

This beauty does not fade with time, does not change with circumstances, and does not end with death.

It is eternal.

God Himself is the source of true beauty.

Beauty is not only His creation—He is beauty.

The Beauty of God

God’s form is glorious, and His presence is true light.

The book of Revelation describes Him as:

Clothed in a robe reaching down to His feet

With a golden sash across His chest

Hair white like wool, as white as snow

Eyes like blazing fire

Feet like glowing bronze refined in a furnace

A voice like the sound of rushing waters

A sharp double-edged sword coming from His mouth (His Word)

His face shining like the sun in all its brilliance. Revelation 1:14–16

The beauty the world offers is temporary.

The beauty God gives is eternal.

The beauty God desires is eternal.

The beauty of the heart is what is most valuable in His sight.

A Prayer

“Let Your face shine upon Your servant; save me in Your unfailing love.” — Psalm 31:16

A Desire

“As for me, I will be vindicated and will see Your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing Your likeness.” Psalm 17:15
