In many Western countries, houses are built mainly with wood so they can better withstand earthquakes and natural disasters. However, everyone knows one reality—no matter how strong a house is, when fire breaks out, everything can be destroyed in moments.
There was a true incident like this.
A house caught fire, and a young boy was trapped inside. Flames were rising from below, thick smoke filled the place, and there seemed to be no escape. Terrified, the boy climbed higher and began crying for help. Because of the fire and smoke, no one could be seen.
From below, the boy heard his father’s voice calling out to him. The father shouted, “Son, don’t be afraid. Jump down from where you are—I will catch you.”
The boy replied, “Daddy, I can’t see you. How can I jump?”
The father answered, “Even if you cannot see me, I can see you. Trust my voice and jump.”
Hearing his father’s words, the boy closed his eyes and jumped. His father caught him and saved his life.
A Spiritual Truth for Us
Dear children of God, this incident teaches us a powerful spiritual lesson.
There are times in our lives when situations are beyond our control. We feel trapped. We see no way forward. Fear surrounds us, and it seems like everything is lost. In such moments, the most important question is this:
Can we hear God’s voice?
And even more—can we trust it?
God is always speaking to us. His voice comes through His Word. Many times, we hear it, but fear prevents us from responding. Yet God assures us that even when we cannot see Him, He clearly sees us. When we take even one step forward in faith, He is faithful to guide us.
Though we may find no evidence around us, though circumstances appear negative, one truth remains—we are always before the eyes of God.
The Bible reminds us:
“Come to Me and listen, that you may live.” (Isaiah 55:3)
And again:
“Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” (Hebrews 4:7)
God’s voice is still being heard today. The question is not whether He is speaking—but whether we are willing to listen and respond.
Those who hear God’s Word and trust Him are blessed. They move forward without fear, anxiety, or despair, because they know God is holding them.
Prayer
May God give us hearts that are sensitive to His voice.
May we walk forward in faith, trusting Him even when we cannot see the way.
And may we live under the grace of hearing and obeying His Word.
